Provides door-to-door transportation service to individuals who are unable to use regular public transit due to a disability. Participants must first register with Accessible Transportation Services (ATS), a department of the Hamilton Street Railway (HSR). Employs wheelchair accessible buses, vans, MVs, and contracted taxi services when appropriate and works under contract to ATS.
The local riding office can provide advocacy and assistance with all federal ministries and programs. They may assist in completing forms for federal services. These include:
- Employment Insurance (EI)
- Passports
- Immigration
- Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and completing tax forms
- Canada Pension Plan (CPP)
- Old Age Security (OAS)
They may also help in obtaining congratulatory messages/scrolls for significant milestones.
Community-based early intervention program that is designed to help young people who are at risk of or in the early stages of homelessness. Services offered include: family mediation and reunification, school re-engagements and retention support, intentional case management, engagement in employment, and assistance identifying and connecting to both natural and formal support networks.
Program connects youth and their families to different services and programs within the city. Program assists youth with a wide range of needs such as: homework help, recreational programming, accessing a housing worker, after school programs, employment/volunteer help, accessing food banks.
