Employment resources and coaching to find sustainable employment in Ontario:

  • assessment of skills, interests and abilities

  • job search strategies and support, including resume development and interview preparation

  • information about careers and occupations, local labour market, employment opportunities

  • help in maintaining employment

Provides temporary regular financial benefits to individuals who lose their jobs through no fault of their own (for example, due to shortage of work, seasonal or mass lay-offs) and are available for and able to work, but can't find a job; able-bodied claimants must be seeking employment to remain eligible. 

Applications should be submitted as soon as employment ends. Individuals can apply for benefits even if they have not yet received their Record of Employment (ROE)

The local riding office can provide advocacy and assistance with all federal ministries and programs. They may assist in completing forms for federal services. These include:

  • Employment Insurance (EI)
  • Passports
  • Immigration
  • Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and completing tax forms
  • Canada Pension Plan (CPP)
  • Old Age Security (OAS)

They may also help in obtaining congratulatory messages/scrolls for significant milestones.
