Public Lectures/Discussions

Programs that sponsor or promote the appearance of individual speakers or group panels who may address a wide variety of social, political, philosophical, cultural and other issues of interest before an audience; or who discuss their particular area of expertise in the arts or humanities and/or read from their works in progress. Members of the audience may be invited to participate in the discussion.

In support of life-long learning, Hamilton Third Age Learning offers lectures and other presentations to older adults in Hamilton. Lectures are presented on a wide variety of topics, led by university professors and other experts in their fields.

Past topics include: 

A nonprofit organization with a mission to offer affordable learning opportunities geared to adults 55+ in Hamilton and surrounding communities.

Offers a series of free public lectures in fields of literature, science, and music. One of the public talks, named in recognition of Dr. John Rae, honours Rae's connection to the Canadian landscape by focusing on a topic related to the Canadian North or the spirit of exploration.

Cultural organization that organizes and hosts a series of public lectures and encourages interest in literature, science, and music.

Free, monthly Saturday morning lectures for children and youth to spark their curiosity and expose them to the university environment. Speakers present topics about science, technology, engineering, arts, math and many more.
