Clinical Psychiatric Evaluation

Programs that utilize a variety of means to evaluate the mental or emotional status or functioning of people who may be experiencing acute or chronic disturbances. Diagnostic techniques may include observation of the person's behaviour, interviews with the individual and significant others, psychological testing as indicated, medical examination, assessment for psychotropic or other medication, and the formulation of an appropriate, ongoing treatment plan which may include voluntary or involuntary hospitalization.

 

Services

Connect is a centralized intake service for St. Joe's Mental Health and Addiction outpatient programs.

Accepts and processes referrals for the following clinics:

Provides person-centred, specialized mental health care for people with schizophrenia and related illnesses. Multi-disciplinary teams work in partnership with clients, caregivers, and other health care providers. Service is offered in inpatient, transitional, and outpatient programs.

Offers a variety of mental health related outpatient services for children and youth age 17 and younger. Healthcare providers will meet with the parent/child to learn about and understand the difficulties the child is having, and make recommendations to best suit their needs.
