A youth worker from the John Howard Society is assigned to the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board to provide the following functions in the suspension/expulsion program:

Offers legal support and forms assistance to help transgender individuals through the process of legally changing their name and sex designation on Ontario and Canada government IDs, birth certificates, and other records.
Supports patient care at Hamilton Health Sciences through the operation of cafes, cafeterias, parking facilities, Give Shops, and retail services across the organization.
Provides employment support for general trades and connects them with industry employers for work placements. This program runs for approximately 30 weeks. Participants are provided with personal protective equipment and a basic tool kit.
12-session support group empowers parents to develop crucial parenting skills while honoring their cultural backgrounds and traditions. Through reflection, learning, and collaboration, participants address cross-cultural parenting challenges and g
