Occupational/Professional Licensing and Certification

Programs that establish and enforce licensing and certification standards for the trades and professions that are subject to regulation, review applications for licences, administer examinations to demonstrate competency, issue or deny licences and/or revoke licences and certificates or take disciplinary action for noncompliance with standards.

The Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists is the provincial professional association of Ontario's occupational therapists.

The Ontario Psychological Association is a voluntary professional organization representing psychology in Ontario. Members are clinicians, academics, researchers, and students who are dedicated to improving the mental health and wellbeing of Ontarians.

The Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers protects the interest of the public by regulating the practice of social workers and social service workers and promoting ethical and professional practice.

A member-driven organization that supports and represents speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and communication health assistants.

The Ontario Association of Optometrists represents optometrists to ensure the highest standard of eye health and vision care is provided. 

The College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario regulates occupational therapists to ensure the ongoing improvement of the practice of occupational therapists and to serve the public interest.

The College of Physiotherapists of Ontario regulates physiotherapists, also known as physical therapists, to ensure the ongoing improvement of the practice of physiotherapists and to serve the public interest.

College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) regulates the practice of medicine in Ontario. Physicians are required to be members to practice medicine in Ontario.

A self-governing Health College for Optometrists in Ontario with the legislated duty to protect the public interest. Ensures that optometrists provide quality patient care that meets the standards of practice, and

The College of Nurses of Ontario is the governing body for Registered Nurses (RNs), Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs), and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) in Ontario, Canada. 

The College fulfils its role by:

A self-governing Health College for Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists that regulates these professionals to ensure they deliver safe, quality, ethical care. 

The College: 

A provincial regulatory agency that inspects and licenses funeral establishments, cemeteries, crematoriums, and investigates complaints. It administers provisions of the Funeral, Burial, and Cremation Services Act on behalf of the province of Ontario.

This group governs Ontario's lawyers and paralegals, making sure they meet the standards of learning, competence, and professional conduct. They license those offering legal services.
