Programs & Services:

A youth worker from the John Howard Society is assigned to the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board to provide support in the suspension / expulsion program. They support the work of staff, management in the school. They also provide support for restorative practices in the class room.

Achieves is a 12-week program which supports youth in grades 6, 7 and 8 that experience barriers to their social and educational success. This program uses restorative practices and increased community connections to strengthen social and life skills.

Choices is an interactive eight session program designed for both males and females 12-17 years of age. It is offered on a weekly basis, both on and off site, where each session is sixty minutes long.

This program is a cognitive skills based program for youth 12-17 who have interpersonal problems as a result of their aggressive behaviour.

This anger management program uses an educational treatment approach to give individuals the skills they need to manage anger and other emotions associated with aggression and anti-social behaviour. It is a cognitive behaioural approach to anger reduction.
