Health/Disability Related Social Clubs

Organizations that provide an opportunity for individuals with a disability or a health condition to meet and socialize with others through dances, parties, picnics, barbecues, events for children and other companionable activities. Some organizations may also offer lecture series which address topics of interest to the membership or provide opportunities for involvement in charitable fundraising and other similar activities.

 

Services

Day Program: Offers a full day of activities for neurodivergent children, teens, and preteens. Activities include board games, video games, arts and crafts, and physical activities.

Offers a variety of support services for people in Hamilton with acquired brain injuries and their friends and families.

Services include:

Offers a social program for youth ages 14 to 23 who have special needs. Each event includes a meal with peers and staff, and activities such as movies, video games, board games, and more, including occasional outings in the community (bowling, lazer tag, etc.)

Offers outreach services that provide rehabilitation to people with acquired brain injuries who live in the community. Services include:

A dance and social night for people with developmental disabilities offered in a safe, secure atmosphere.

A recreational and social group adults with disabilities, including Down syndrome. Volunteers provide supervision so participants can enjoy time spent with friends in a safe environment.   

Offers recreational sports for youth and adults with disabilities, including baseball in the summer, and a variety of sports (boccia, curling, bowling, basketball) in the fall/winter. Also offers a variety of special events and banquets throughout the year. 

A charitable organization offering recreational sports programs for persons with disabilities. 

Offers a variety of social and recreational programs and events for individuals who are blind or visually impaired.
