Free activities, programs, and workshops for adults 55+, offered by Recreation division and community partners, across the City of Hamilton.
Serves as a hub for independent, family-owned businesses and young entrepreneurs, to help promote and improve the community of Concession Street on Hamilton Mountain.
Offers opportunities to learn and sing barbershop-style four-part harmony. Encourages a love of music in the community through live performances. New members are welcome.
Collects new and gently used clothing and household items (dishes, pots & pans, lamps, etc.). These items are given away free of charge to those in need in the Hamilton and surrounding community.
The Arthritis Society offers programs and services that support those with arthritis. These include:
Provides recreational, low-pressure dance and acting classes year round for all experience levels. Produces three community theatre musicals per year. Volunteer opportunities are available onstage, backstage, or in the administration department.
Offers support to women who have been exposed to abuse and violence, whether physical, sexual, emotional, or financial. Programs provide knowledge and understanding of abuse, safety planning, and access to community resources.
Quilting guild that meets monthly to share knowledge and skills. Offers workshops to members and has an Outreach Program which makes lap quilts, breast support pillows, and other items for various community organizations.
Provides a range of services to support newcomers get settled in Canada. Settlement counsellors assist newcomer families with the following:
