Assistance for Children with Severe Disabilities, Special Services at Home

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services has temporarily expanded the list of eligible expenses under the Special Services at Home program to support people and their families while community-based activities and settings are closed. See the website for a listing of new eligible expenses.

Program helps families who are caring for a child with a developmental or physical disability and provides respite support to the family.

Age 18 years and younger; Families can apply for this support if their children have a developmental and/or physical disability and they live in Ontario and need more support than most families can provide. Children must live at home with their family, or they are not living at home with their family and are not being helped by other residential services.
