John Howard Society Intimate Partner Violence Program

An 8 session program developed utilizing restorative practice principles and the Duluth Model to assist individuals who have been involved in incidents of intimate partner violence. 

Sessions include:

  • Defining domestic violence and understanding anger
  • Understanding power and control, cycle of abuse, and intergenerational trauma
  • How beliefs and attitudes influence behaviour
  • The effect of abuse on children, partner, self, and family
  • Impacts of substance use/abuse
  • Building healthy relationships and respectful communication
  • Effective conflict resolution skills
