Bird Protection/Conservation

Programs that provide for the conservation, protection and management of wild birds and their habitats, particularly migratory birds, songbirds, birds on the endangered species list and birds whose populations have been in decline. Included are programs that provide for the protection of a particular bird species as well as those that meet the needs of birds in general. Specific measures may include prohibitions on hunting, collecting, trapping, mist-netting and banding protected birds; collecting eggs or nests; possessing birds found dead or their feathers; and keeping captive wild birds.
