River Ecology and Management

Programs that are responsible for restoring and/or managing rivers and streams that have been damaged by natural disasters such as flooding or whose hydrology and biotic integrity are threatened by human activities such as highway, bridge, and pipeline construction; water development; hydroelectric projects; flood control channel modifications; industrial and residential development and the waste they produce; agriculture; irrigation; livestock grazing; and mining.

 

Services

Annually collects old Christmas Trees to create barriers at the mouth of Grindstone creek. This is part of RBG's efforts to rebuild creek channels and restore the floodplain ponds that have been damaged by the invasive non-native Common carp that have been prevalent in Hamilton Harbour.
