Homework Help Programs

Programs that answer specific questions regarding grammar, mathematics or other areas of study or help students with homework assignments. Included are telephone hotlines, online assistance and in-person programs offered by the school following regularly scheduled classes or by community centres, libraries or other similar types of organizations.

Child and Youth Programs

Offers a wide range of educational and developmental activities for children and youth, giving them opportunities to engage and succeed through physical, social, creative, and educational programming. Programs include:

Centre for Diverse Learners Programs

Offers programming to help neurodiverse children, youth, and teens learn on their own terms, in ways that work for them. These include academic and social well-being programming:

Afro-Canadian Caribbean Association Learning Center

Program offered in collaboration with McMaster Association of Caribbean and West Indian Students (MACaws), providing a space for elementary and middle school-aged students to work on school work, with tutoring and homework help in reading, writing, and math. Snacks are provided.

Empowerment Squared Homework Circle

After school program where volunteers help newcomer youth with completing homework, building study skills, and growing confidence in school, helping youth learn how to problem-solve, stay motivated, and prepare for future opportunities. 

Welcome Inn Community Centre Learning and Fun After School Program

Serving children from St. Lawrence and Bennetto Elementary Schools, children work on their literacy, numeracy, and social skills with mentors from McMaster University. Program includes school pickup, a healthy snack, group games, and arts and crafts. 

Bright Choices Program

Program designed to help young people who require mentorship overcome challenges related to their school experience, employment, and mental wellness. Support includes:
