Financial Literacy Training

Programs that provide educational workshops, printed materials, Internet website information or other types of resources for individuals, families, business owners and others that deal with the essentials of money management, asset building and financial independence. A wide variety of money management issues may be addressed including banking services, consumer credit lending, debt consolidation/repayment, bankruptcy, small business development, retirement planning, investment management, savings, risk management, tax and estate law and other similar topics.

Offers activities that are aimed at providing opportunities for collective learning and skills-development in small groups, both in person and online. Provides opportunities to practice English, meet new people with shared interests, and get to know other Canadians and build professional and soci

Assists newcomers and members of Black and marginalized communities with financial advice and training in support of their personal and professional success.

Topics include:

Serving children form  St. Lawrence and Bennetto Elementary Schools, children work on their literacy, numeracy, and social skills with mentors from McMaster University. Programs include school pickup, a healthy snack, and access to a lending library, computers, games, and sports equipment. 

A community based program for youth requiring support. It helps young people (12-24 years of age) navigate the service systems to connect them to resources in their community.
