Personal Census Search

A program of the Census Operatives Division of Library and Archives Canada which allows individuals to request a search of Census records for information to help them establish their age or family relationships when there are no birth registration records, baptismal records, affidavits of birth by the attending physician or midwife or other means of establishing their status. The need for this information often becomes a requirement during an application to the Canada Pensions Plan. Personal information from the Census Records of 1911 and later is confidential and only available upon the written request of the person to whom it relates or, for a proper purpose, to a legal representative of an estate.
