Congregate Meals/Nutrition Sites

Programs that provide hot meals on a regular basis primarily for older adults who may be at risk for nutritional deficits and social isolation without assistance. Congregate meals are often combined with recreational, educational and social activities, and programs may include access to health services and/or information. Some programs are also open to caregivers, spouses and/or adults with disabilities.

 

Services

Program provides a casual space for seniors to gather and socialize with an emphasis on low-income seniors who are vulnerable, potentially isolated or are living in at-risk conditions.

Provides support services to the Indigenous community, regardless of age, who are disabled, chronically ill, frail, elderly or require acute/chronic continuum of care.

Services include:

Program offers a lunch for all seniors.

Program provides a variety of activities and programs to promote enjoyment and well being for older adults and retirees.  Offering bingo, euchre and more. Also, fitness and strength training, speaker events on topics relevant to seniors and pot luck lunches.

Weekly home-cooked lunch followed by activities such as singing, games, and excursions. July and August dates include brunch and/or a day trip.

Program offers a monthly nutritious meal and social time at a location in Glanbrook/Binbrook. Participants from outside of Glanbrook are welcome, but must arrange their own transportation. Transportation can be arranged for participants who reside in Glanbrook.

Offers meals served in a group setting that provides an opportunity for socializing. Developed for older adults and people with disabilities who would like to get out of the house more often. Transportation is available for a fee.
