Agency Based Libraries/Resource Centres

Libraries or other centres located in community organizations that house a collection of materials which may focus on a particular topic or activity such as parenting, preventive health care or woodworking; or which may be more general in nature. Staff with expertise in the subject may be available to answer questions or help people with their research. Materials may be used at the centre or, in some cases, checked out and used elsewhere.

 

Services

Offers a variety of support services to people and families impacted by Down syndrome.

Lending libraries located within the offices of the Alzheimer Society of Brant, Haldimand Norfolk, Hamilton Halton, offering books and other resource learning materials available for loan. Library resources may be borrowed for 2 months. 

Subjects available include:

Lending library offering educational resources such as educational toys, reference materials, books, dvds, and onsite equipment to all those interested in the healthy development and education of children and youth.

The centre provides people in recovery, their families, and community members with access to reliable and user-friendly information about mental health, addictions, and related issues. Computer with internet access is available onsite.

Full service lending library available to patients, families, staff, and the community. Includes books, DVD's, and brochures that are available for loan for up to 4 weeks. Part of the Hamilton Health Sciences Network.
