Political Action/Lobbying Groups

Organizations that work for the introduction, passage or defeat of one or more specific pieces of legislation through attempts, including personal solicitation, to influence the way legislators vote or the content of the legislation they introduce. Also included are organizations that utilize picketing, leafleting, guerrilla theatre, demonstrations, speak-outs and other similar tactics to educate the public or government representatives about a particular issue or point of view and/or to influence policy development and implementation or have an impact on the general political climate.

Local chapter of the national organization which acts as a lobby group and advocates on behalf of people age 50 and over, retired or not.

Non-profit, non-partisan association representing more than 300,000 older Canadians across Canada. Advocating for better health care, financial security and freedom from ageism. 

A community-focused non-profit that works in collaboration with a variety of funders and local partners to build a sustainable future for Hamilton. It facilitates the ability of people in the area to develop the knowledge and skills they need to protect and enhance the environment.
