Neighbourhood Improvement Groups

Organizations whose members are usually residents of a particular community or neighbourhood who work together to remedy deficiencies in existing neighbourhood conditions or to enhance conditions that are currently satisfactory.

 

Services

Davis Creek Community Planning Team Location. There is no physical location for this service. The geographical boundary is the Red Hill Valley Parkway, King Street East, Centennial Parkway, and the escarpment.

Neighbourhood association dedicated to improving the quality of life for people who work, live, and play in the Davis Creek neighbourhood. Part of the neighbourhood action plan for the City of Hamilton. Open to City of Hamilton residents living in Ward 5.

Corktown Neighbourhood Association Location. There is no physical location for this service. It is bordered by Main Street to the north, Wellington Street to the east, the escarpment to the north, and James Street to the west.

A volunteer-based group serving the Corktown area. The goal is to engage residents in community stewardship, foster a sense of neighbourhood pride, and cultivate connections. Open to City of Hamilton residents living in Ward 2.

Beasley Neighbourhood Association Location. There is no physical location for this service. The geographical boundary is Wellington Street to the east, the Canadian National Railway tracks to the north, James Street to the west, and Main Street to the south.

Dedicated to improve the quality of life for people who work, live, and play in the Beasley neighbourhood. Part of the neighbourhood action plan for the city of Hamilton. Open to City of Hamilton residents living in Ward 2. 

Gourley Park Community Association Location. There is no physical location for this service. The geographical boundary is the Linc to the north, West 5th Street to the east, Stone Church Road to the south, and Garth Street to the west. 

A group of volunteers connecting City of Hamilton residents living in Ward 8, who strive toward improving the community as a whole. Events include annual Winterfest, Easter Egg Hunt, Pumpkin Fest, and Movie Night in the Park. These events are free and open to all.

Eleanor Community Council Location. There is no physical location for this service. The geographical boundary is Stone Church Road to the north, Upper Gage to the east, Rymal Road to the south, and Upper Sherman to the west.

Neighbourhood association involved in fundraising and organizing events that benefit all residents of the Hamilton East Mountain community. Open to City of Hamilton residents living in Ward 7.  

Durand Neighbourhood Association Location. There is no physical location for this service. The geographical boundary is Main Street West, James Street South, the escarpment, and Queen Street South.

A neighbourhood association for all residents of the Durand neighbourhood in Hamilton. Its mission is to be an active, resident-based voice that engages community members and advocates for neighbourhood priorities. Open to City of Hamilton residents living in Ward 2.

A collective of residents living in a specific area or community in the city of Hamilton. Each association may hold meetings and stay connected through email or social media. 

Ainslie Wood Community Association Location. There is no physical location for this service. The geographical boundary is from Highway 403 to Dundas, between the Niagara Escarpment and Cootes Paradise, bordering McMaster University.

A community association for all residents of the Ainslie Wood neighbourhood in Hamilton.

Neighbour to Neighbour Centre main Office. Offers services and programs to help prevent poverty by supporting neighbours at risk.
