Arts/Humanities Councils

Organizations that foster, nurture and sustain artistic excellence or support research, education and public programs in the humanities and create a climate in which the arts and humanities may flourish and be experienced and enjoyed by the public. Included are groups which support design arts, dance, expansion arts, folk arts, media arts (film, radio and television), museums, music, opera/musical theatre, theatre and the visual arts as well as the humanities including literature, history, philosophy, theology, modern and classical languages, archaeology, linguistics, jurisprudence and the social sciences.

Cultural organization that organizes and hosts a series of public lectures and encourages interest in literature, science, and music.

A network of musicians, educators, and community supporters dedicated to invigorate the music scene in Hamilton through professional live performances, education, events, workshops, and exhibits.

Non-profit that acts to co-ordinate the efforts of ethnic organizations and provides support for individuals in developing Canada's Folk Arts and Heritage.

A non-profit, charitable arts organization who promotes art and culture in the greater Hamilton region. Holds an annual outdoor festival every August in Gage Park. 

A group of local volunteers that organizes the annual Dundas Cactus Festival.

An orchestral music festival with a mission is to ensure that its music-making will enthrall every age, gender, and ethnicity.

A registered charity who strives to make theatre accessible to both audience members and theatre makers and is committed to fostering both the development of professional artists and an appreciation of the arts in Hamilton.
