Military Museums

Institutions that acquire, preserve, research and exhibit permanent and/or travelling collections of objects or documents that relate to the history and conduct of warfare. Exhibits may display weaponry, demonstrations of military strategy, relics of famous battles, profiles of individuals who made significant contributions to military history or the advancement of warfare and other similar objects.

Offers a variety of programs and events related to the museum's collection of artifacts, books, periodicals, manuals, and aircrafts from the beginning of World War II to the present.

Programs include:

Location of the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum.

A non-profit organization whose mandate is to acquire, document, preserve, and maintain a complete collection of aircraft that were flown by Canadians and the Canadian military from the beginning of World War II to the present.

HMCS Haida was a tribal class destroyer during World War II which is now permanently installed at Pier 9, near Bayfront Park and open to the public 7 days a week in the spring and summer season.
