Arts Festivals

Programs that sponsor events which feature activities for the entire family including dance and music performances, storytelling, mime, children's theatre, comedy, drama, visual arts, film, poetry, multi-cultural programs, laser shows, parades, participatory processions, workshops and exhibits. Includes First Night Celebrations which are annual events in communities throughout the country which celebrate the arrival of the New Year through a festival of the arts. Participants are encouraged to create masks, wear costumes and paint their faces in honour of the occasion. The festival typically concludes with a countdown to midnight and a fireworks finale.

The Dundas Cactus Festival is held near King Street West and Ogilvie Street in Dundas

An orchestral music festival with performances throughout the year at various locations in Hamilton, by a full-time professional orchestra-in-residence. Also provides training opportunities for emerging young Canadian professional musicians.

Brott Music Festival Headquarters, not open to the public. The festival is held at various venues throughout Hamilton. 

Hamilton's largest annual free music and arts festival, held on James Street North every September. Features a diverse lineup of music, art, fashion, performance, talks, crafts, food, and fun.

Supercrawl is held along James Street North, from King Street to Burlington Street. 

A not-for-profit arts organization committed to honouring, showcasing, and celebrating all varieties of creative work.

An annual 12-day unjuried event presenting live theatre in an informal, accessible, and inexpensive environment. Strives to break down traditional boundaries between audience and artist, encouraging open dialogue between theatre-goers and theatre-creators.

This location is the Headquarters of the Hamilton Festival Theatre Company. Performances and events are held at theatres and venues throughout Hamilton.
