Youth Enrichment Programs

Programs that offer a wide variety of activities including arts and crafts, academic programs, sports, reading clubs, workshops and other recreational, leisure, cultural, social and civic activities for school-age children and youth in out-of-school hours. The objective of youth enrichment programs is to promote healthy social interaction and help participants maximize their social, emotional, physical and academic potential.

 

Services

Offers a variety of programming for youth ages 12-24. Programming includes:

The Character Development program encourages youth to develop their character and leadership skills while learning a sense of personal responsibility through peer mentorship and community service.

Free drop-in programs for children offered at various neighbourhood parks around the city. Programming varies based on participants in attendance and weather, and may include active games, crafts, circle games, or use of equipment/supplies. 

Advancement program introduces elementary and high school students to the fundamentals of engineering through lectures, hands-on activities, labs, industry tours & projects.

Aims to improve the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of Aboriginal children and their families by offering a wide range of events and activities that focus on cultural awareness, physical activities, arts and crafts, life skills, and strengthening family relationships.

Welcoming, safe, and engaging programming for teens. Programs include:

  • Employment and educational supports
  • Social and recreational opportunities
  • Focus on health, nutrition and wellness

A youth-led initiative that aims to help young people connect, learn, and be engaged in their community. The Net Youth Engagement Committee meets weekly to create, plan, and organize programs and events that offer community volunteer hours for youth 13-18 years.
