Pottery/Kitchenware Collector Clubs
Programs that provide organized opportunities for individuals to pursue their interest in collecting bone china, pottery, porcelain, restaurant ware, stoneware and other kitchenware, often through the medium of a club or society which is under the leadership of people who are knowledgeable in the subject. Collectibles may include tableware, dinnerware, cookie jars, salt and pepper shakers, teapots, teacups and saucers, glasses, stemware, crystal, mugs, creamers, pitchers, pie birds, egg cups, trays, souvenir spoons, collector's plates and other similar pieces; and collectors may focus on specific a manufacturer, pattern or era. Activities may include availability of a newsletter, sharing information about sources for collectible items, criteria for their value and current prices; and opportunities for members to trade collectibles, attend shows or participate in auctions where pieces are being sold, or otherwise make further acquisitions for their collections. Included are Internet-based virtual clubs, WebRings devoted to the subject and clubs where members meet face-to-face.
