Historic Battlefields

Sites where major battles have been fought that have been preserved and made available to the public. Amenities for visitors may include interpretive signs marking historic features of the landscape such as the location of encampments and the deployment of opposing forces during the course of the battle, maps of the area and materials that can be used for historical study. Guided tours, historical re-enactments of the conflict, commemorative events and other activities may be offered at the site.
