Sailing

Programs that provide opportunities for people of all ages to learn to handle a sailboat, and participate in sailing activities. Included are programs for novices who are interested in recreational sailing and want to learn the basics of the sport (e.g., rigging, hoisting and trimming sails, tacking, jibbing and docking); and those for people who want to prepare for and participate in competitive sailing events.

 

Services

Brigs is a charitable organization dedicated to building leadership, self-efficacy and self-esteem in youth, accomplished through the peer-to-peer delivery of challenging programs, with a focus on safety and the creation of positive and memorable experiences on board the sail-training vessels.

A sailing program for individuals with a physical or developmental disability. Boats are specifically designed for use by people with disabilities.

A non-profit, co-operative, social-sailing club for adults in Hamilton. Boats, safety equipment, and volunteer instructors are supplied by the club. Social activities and events are hosted throughout the year.

Offers a variety of summer camps that teach children how to sail and build skills in boat handling, safety, seamanship, and more. Waterfront Camp (ages 5-7) is for children to learn what it feels like to be on the water, and CANSail (ages 7-18) is a four-stage program that builds on skills in the
