Programs that house a collection of living birds, which may be native to the area or exotic, for the purposes of conservation, research, education and public viewing. Some aviaries may be devoted to specific types of birds, e.g., birds of prey or songbirds.



The observatory offers public programming and professional development related to birds.

It offers:

  • Project FeederWatch,
  • the Christmas Bird Count,
  • breeding bird atlases.

Organization that advances the understanding, appreciation, and conservation of wild birds and their habitats. Programs engage the skills, enthusiasm, and support of members, volunteers, and the public.

The Hamilton Aviary hosts community events to promote awareness and foster a love of birds. The Aviary is open on Sundays for an open house.
