Escort Programs

Programs that accompany people who have limited mobility, cognitive impairments or other problems to specified local destinations and provide assistance which may include transportation or driving services, assisting the individual to enter and leave the vehicle and buildings, carrying packages, helping the person deal with other challenges and/or providing emotional support. Escort programs may assist older adults and people with disabilities, people who have AIDS or fear they have contracted the HIV virus, and others who need emotional and/or physical support; and may have limitations regarding the types of trips that qualify for this service.

 

Services

Transportation to and from non-emergency medical appointments by volunteer drivers.  Program is delivered on a first-come, first-serve basis. 

Provides non-emergency assisted transportation for individuals who are physically or cognitively disabled * offers continuous companion services for individuals who may need additional help or supervision * wheelchair transportation staff all have standard first aid and CPR/AED level C

Glanbrook Community Services provides participants with transportation services to medical appointments, dental appointments, errands, to visit friends, grocery and general shopping.  Drivers will wait and can assist participants with purchases.  Out-of-town trips may be arranged upon request, so

Offers door-to-door transportation to appointments for those with limited to no access to transportation.  A caregiver may travel with the client at no extra cost.  A minimum of three (3) days notice is requested in order to book.
