Conversation Partners

Programs that help international students and others whose first language is other than English or French develop those skills by arranging for people (usually volunteers) to spend time conversing with them enabling them to practice their English or French. Included are both one-to-one and group situations.

 

Services

Offering free workshops and networking programs for newcomer women, youth, and gender-diverse folks to help connect to local services and resources.

Informal, weekly group to reduce social isolation amongst seniors and build strong community supports. Casual conversation aimed on improving English language skills and cultural awareness.

Provides a range of programs to help newcomers get settled in Canada, including peer-to-peer support groups, settlement and referral services, English conversation circles, and some translation services.

Offers a variety of programs to serve and celebrate the francophone community. All programs are geared toward the French community, people in interested in French culture and language, and families of children attending French immersion schools.
