Career Counselling

Programs that provide information and guidance for people who need to evaluate their aptitude, abilities and interests in order to choose a vocation or career and select the type of training that will enable them to obtain and progress in positions in the public or private sector that are productive and fulfilling.

 

Services

Provides training, job placement programs, and other career development services for people with disabilities.

Provides employment support for general trade (carpentry, general machinist and electrician) and connects them with industry employers for work placements.  This program runs for approximately 30 weeks.

Provides job seekers with industry training that enhances skill sets, productivity, safety, and workplace communication.  Helps to increase job prospects and job mobility for workers in the Cannabis industry in a practical learning environment. 

Provides one-on-one support to job seekers with self-disclosed disabilities with the goal of gaining and maintaining meaningful employment.  Supports business owners with implementing accessible hiring practices.  Assists employers with transition of job ready clients with disabilities into the w

Career Foundation Hamilton Office.  Provides support services for employers and job seekers.  Offers trades and apprenticeship opportunities, specialized youth programs, workshops, jobs fairs and other networking events.

Offers employment counselling to newcomers who are unemployed or underemployed and actively seeking work.  Services include:

Provides support and assistance to clients in their pursuit of permanent employment through resume writing, job search counseling, computer access, fax/photocopying services, access to job listings, training course listing, and education/occupation resources.

Through partnering organizations, Dundas Community Services offers free employment counselling, as well as individual and family counselling with fees geared to your income levels.

Provides tailored employment services to adults with developmental disabilities who are eligible for the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) Employment Supports program.
