Mental Health Occupational Therapy
Programs that provide occupational therapy whose goal is to is to help people with mood disorders, substance abuse problems or other mental disabilities develop the skills and obtain the supports necessary for independent, interdependent, productive living. Particular emphasis is given to interventions that result in improved quality of life and decrease hospitalization. Services may be provided in a variety of settings including adult day centres, day treatment centres, community rehabilitation programs, community mental health clinics, clubhouse programs, outpatient psychiatric clinics, foster care residences, sheltered workshops and group and private homes.
