Family Support Program

During the COVID-19 pandemic, CAS staff are still working. Offices are closed to the public, with the exception of employees, those with appointments, anyone reporting child protection concerns and couriers. All internal and external training and group gatherings are cancelled until further notice.

Provides protection support services to families referred by child protection workers.

Family Visit Program: Parents can visit together in fully supervised, partially supervised, or check in/check out

formats. Parents and children are provided support to ensure that visits are positive and safe for everyone participating. Children may be in foster care or in the care of kin.

Parent Support Program: Provides focused therapeutic teaching to parents in the home and community, including situations where children are returning to a parent's care. Parents learn new techniques in parenting without using physical discipline, receive supportive instruction in infant care and development, child management, family routines, and nutrition, and are connected to services and supports in the community. Some families receive on-site supervised therapeutic intervention from the Parent Support Program.
