First Place Supportive Housing Program consists of 40 one-bedroom apartment units located in an apartment building managed by CityHousing Hamilton. Support services are provided by Personal Support Workers who are on site 24 hours a day on a scheduled basis, or as needed.
First Place Supportive Housing provides the following services:
- personal care (bathing, mouth and/or hair care, preventative skin care)
- personal support/assistance (dressing/undressing, assistance with pre-measured medication, exercising, reassurance and safety checks)
- homemaking services (light housekeeping, laundry, meal services)
- crisis intervention
- information and referral
- advocacy

Eligibility
Clients must be:
- able to direct and participate in their own care
- in need of personal assistance/support for daily living activities
- require the need for 24-hour, on-site assistance
- be medically stable and not need intensive medical-type care or the use of a mechanical lift
- require financial assistance for housing
