Specialized Information and Referral

Programs that maintain information about community resources that are appropriate for a specific target group or human services sector (for example, youth programs or addiction services) and which link individuals who are in need of specialized services with appropriate resources and/or which provide information about community agencies and organizations that offer specialized services.

 

Services

The Provincial Youth Outreach Worker program (PYOW) helps marginalized and at-risk youth and families better navigate and connect with services in their communities to improve youth outcomes.

Offers mental health support services, including individual counselling, group counselling, and seniors counselling. All supports are offered via phone or online with Zoom.

Full service lending libraries available to patients, families, staff, and the community. Includes books, CDs, DVDs, and brochures that are available for loan. Computers with free internet access are also available.

This program helps children, youth, and their caregivers in the following ways:

A centre for at-risk youth residing within the community who are between 16 and 21 years of age, providing access to a number of support services and programs to assist them in remaining housed, diverting them from homelessness and street involvement.
