Refugee Sponsorship Assistance

Programs that provide application assistance and support for refugees who are eligible for the Joint Assistance Sponsorship Program and the community groups that have pledged to sponsor them. The program requires a sponsoring group that can commit to providing additional support to a refugee who has special needs that will likely result in a longer or more difficult period of integration. Special needs may include a large number of family members; trauma resulting from violence or torture; medical disabilities; and the effects of systemic discrimination.
