Kiwanis Boys and Girls Club, Gender Inclusive Programs

GirlsFitGet participants who self-identify as female at the time of the program involved in physical wellness in a safe, inclusive, and fun environment. Focuses on sports-based fitness, personal wellness, and nutrition education. Also gives participants the opportunity to explore different aspects of physical activity such as dance, gymnastics, stretching, yoga, endurance, etc. Discussions around healthy eating and fueling your body properly also occur throughout the session. (Ages 7-13)

GirlsZoneProvides a fun, inclusive, space for girls in the community. Offers a wide variety of activities that facilitate conversations around gender centered issues and provide opportunities to build confidence, self-esteem, and self-advocacy within the participants. Programming includes creative, physical, and wellness based activities. (Ages 7-13)

Girls' SportIntroduces participants who self-identify as female at the time of program to the fundamental skills and rules of a different sport each week, building upon their athletic development. McMaster Women's Athletes support the program by bringing various varsity team athletes to mentor and role model for the participants. (Ages 7-13)

FAB (Fit, Active & Beautiful) 12 week running program that challenges girls in grades 6, 7, and 8 to train and compete in a 5km run.

Girls LeadershipProvides participants with a safe environment where they can develop and grow their leadership and team building skills. A large part of Girls Leadership programs is connection to the community; the participants in these programs will look to connect with their communities by organizing activities and events. (Ages 12-16)

BoysZoneProvides fun inclusive space for boys in the community. Offers a wide variety of activities that facilitate conversations around gender centered issues and provide opportunities to build confidence, self-esteem, and self-advocacy within the participants. Programming includes creative, physical, and wellness based activities. (Ages 9-13)
