Supportive Housing, York Project

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chief Medical Officer of Health has advised hospitals, long-term care homes, retirement housing, supportive housing and congregate care settings that only “essential” visitors are allowed to visit homes. Essential visitors are defined as those who have a resident who is very ill or at end of life. Decisions relating to who can visit will be made at the discretion of the Administrator or designate. All staff, contracted workers and essential visitors are being actively screened, including having their temperature checked prior to entering any sites.

Essential, non-medical attendant and life skill support services provided to adults with permanent physical disabilities, or brain injury, living in their own apartment within the building.

Support is provided on a contracted basis.

Tenants lease their unit from the building’s landlord.

Age 18 years and older; Adults with a permanent physical disability, or brain injury, who are able to direct their support services. Clients must have their other needs met within the community's health care system.

Service - Funding for support services is provided by MOHLTC. Rent is geared to income and determined by the landlord.;
