John Howard Society Transportation Program

The transportation program offers low cost, twice per month transportation for visitors to the Federal penitentiaries in Kingston and Warkworth areas. This is operated primarily by volunteers.

Passengers must arrange clearance for their visit with the institution that they are visiting.

Volunteer drivers needed.

This program is partially funded by the John Howard Society of Ontario.

Eligibility

Transportation open to all and children under 12 must have a proper car seat provided by the parent or guardian. Pregnant women may only travel up to the end of their 7th month.  All visitors must arrange their own clearance at the institution prior to travelling.

For Volunteer drivers: drivers must be over the age of 25, have a valid G license and provide a driver's abstract and criminal reference check

Application Instructions

Call the John Howard Society to arrange a trip. A registration form must be completed with this organization prior to travelling. Payment must be made to secure a spot.
