Transgender Name/Gender Identity Modification Assistance

Programs that provide assistance for transgender individuals who need to change their name and/or gender identity on a passport, driver licence, provincial/territorial ID card, court order, immigration papers, Indigenous status ID or other documents. Some programs are also able to cover related expenses.

 

Services
The Queer Justice Project

Offers legal services, education, and system navigation to the LGBTQ+ and Two Spirit community in Hamilton. This is a francophone project that has an accompanying English component.

Trans ID Clinics

Offers legal support and forms assistance to help transgender individuals through the process of legally changing their name and sex designation on Ontario and Canada government IDs, birth certificates, and other records.
